Celebrating Christmas with children

 

Wintertime is probably one of the most loved seasons among our children. A lot of snow, winter holidays, the celebration of New Year and Christmas, these are only several reasons why kids like winter so much. It’s worth saying that because of the difference between Julian and Gregorian calendars Christmas is celebrated in Ukraine on January 7 while in the countries of Western Europe and majority of other countries on December 25.

 Christmas Day is a public holiday across Ukraine, so many businesses, schools, universities and public offices are closed. We could not but use the opportunity and testify the kids of Kurne village about the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. It was also a chance for us to dispel wrong beliefs connected with this holiday in our culture.

 

 About 20 kids came to listen to a wonderful story about Jesus’ birthday, to participate in quizzes and interactive games, to learn some Bible verses and of course to receive gifts. It was a blessed time full of joy, laughter and positive emotions combined with depth of biblical truths which children would carry with them for many years to come.

 

It’s our wish and prayer for little Jesus to be born in every single kid’s heart and grow there more and more as time goes by. We respectfully ask all those non-indifferent to support us in this prayer.
